Puppies are occasionally available to loving permanent homes.
We breed when we wish to have a new puppy for ourselves, usually for the show ring...
We are totally committed to each and everyone of our puppies who are born here at Widgerwood and that is for their entire lives, we have made many many friends who are now part of our extended family.
Our puppies have the advantage of being raised in our home, we have our own dog room, handled by us daily, they are used to all household noises, this includes our cats/children and other dogs.
We also like to partly train our puppies to a lead/crate/car, we like to take our puppies out in the car so they don't mind their journey to their new homes.
We at Widgerwood we have supplied many puppies to Dogs for the Disabled who train dogs to help disabled adults/children, live life more independently.
The dogs are trained in practical tasks such as opening and closing doors, helping a person undress, even taking the laundry out of the washing machine.
Some have gone to detect and help children/adults with Autisms, they are even being taught now to detect heart problems.
Many of our puppies have now gone on to be trained to help disabled people to have a more fulfilling and independent life.

OUR BLACKS
We do not take our babies away too early from their mums as they are still learning from her, we feel this helps them to become good well adjusted and brilliant mothers themselves.
We do encourage that the new owners come back to visit us.
We also now offer the Service of having you puppy microchipped, which will be done on the day that you take your puppy to their new home.
Labradors have been a big part of our lives for many many years now.
Our aim is to breed Labradors of good quality and excellent temperament. That will fit in perfectly with family life, or in the show ring.
We are totally committed to all our puppies for the whole of their life, they are raised in our home with our love and our total commitment to each and every one of them.
They are socialized with our cats and visiting children, they play in the house and meet and play with our other dogs/they are also taught kennel life as well. This is the fun part because they get to go and play out in the fields as a group...
They also have had a collar and lead on and been out in our car for experience for the journey to their new homes.
They are crate trained, this is taught at an early age,they are also paper trained They are used to all household noises. They make wonderful pets.
All our puppies are Kennel Club registered and the new owners have the full knowledge that everything has been fully explained to them about any restrictions which we have place on our puppies.
We also like to receive lots of pictures of our puppies as they grow into young adults any pictures that we put on our website are soley our property.

When our older dogs or puppies go to new homes, it is suggested, to the new owners that they are neutered/spayed, we can discuss this in more detail with you.
Everything we breed carries breeding restrictions, even the ones we keep, until they are of breedable age and if we wish to have a litter with them. They do not all make good parents
If the new owner states that they wish to have a litter, then they are requested to abide by our contract, and we will guide and assist them into the correct procedures to follow in maintaining the breed standard, and making sure that the girls go to the best possible stud dogs, after all these are still our babies and we do care for their well being.
If for any reason you cannot keep or look after your dog/puppy they must be returned to us. We are always on hand to help with any questions or problems that may occur during your dogs lifetime and our contract states that if for any reason you are unable to keep your dog, we will always take them back and find a suitable home for them. They are your dog but always our responsibility.
